This is essentially the same core unit as featured in a number of new budget-market VLMs available to airsoft players and airgunners. It's a ~5mw 545nM laser diode for the price of a top-shelf modular 650nM laser. For those of you who don't have a clue what I'm talking about, the measurement nM stands for nanometers, the wavelength of light being used. Generally speaking, the lower this wavelength is, the better. More power is being released in the same "amount" of light, due to the fact that the waves are closer together. FOr $100, you have an extraordinarily powerful, if also extraordinarily large laser capable of leaving its mark on your target in broad daylight, with a fresh battery. THis will mount to a large, weaver-railed pistol, however, you can expect to have to modify the rail system on a KJW metal-frame Beretta 92FS to accept the mount without wobbling. That being said, this WILL give you a video-game-style laser sight whose beam IS coherent in the dark, and IS visible during the day. Expect to change batteries frequently, however, because the circuitry to enhance the power of one battery and increase the output wattage of the diode *does* sap three volts of lithium-ion camera battery fairly quickly.
