When I purchased this gun, I can't exactly lie...
I wasn't thinking combat, I was thinking Dirty Harry.
The best way to describe this gun is FUN.
The barrel and the cylinder are made from a fairly solid metal, which is nice and all, but the handgrip seems to be a little weak. I haven't had any leaks yet, but I've heard others complaining that the gun's internal gas reservoir develops severe gas leaks, which lead to problems in operation.
But let's be honest with ourselves...
If you wanted a gun you could carry to any game and not worry about having any issues, would you really want one with only six rounds?
Probably not, no.
THe gun loads EXACTLY like a real revolver. Its action seems pretty well matched to teh double-single-action Colt Python with a heavy trigger pull and the ability to lock the hammer back for single-action reaction time. Due to the need for the gun to have tight seals at the front and rear of each shell in order to fire correctly, you cannot spin the cylinder like in movies, and doing the cinematic load-spin-snap-shut move doesn't seem to work either, unless you spend quite a bit of time practicing closing the gun's chamber into the frame.
Range suffers a bit from the traditional GBB, as does velocity, but accuracy seems to be fair.
It's huge. It's freaking BIG. Even this 4" model looks and feels almost identical to a real .357 Magnum revolver, except for possibly some difference in weight.
Impressive? Yes.
Fun to shoot? Hell, yes.
Fun to reload? More than you would think.
A great sidearm to pack along to your next 24-hour weekend game?
Uh... Probably not. Unless you vlue the asthetic of this piece over its functionality, and don't have $250 to spend on a Tanaka revolver.
